"Jim, the paramedic, was so lovely"

About: North Somerset PCT / Emergency GP out of hours service South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Out-of-hours general practice

(as the patient),

After four days of suffering a very bad attack of bronchitis, I woke in the night struggling to get breath and coughing up blood.

Rang emergency GP service who pointed us to the Paramedic service. They came out straight away, although initially a bit of trouble with our house numbering system found us eventually!

Lovely paramedic called Jim, examined me, did an ECG as well as oxygen levels. Concluded acute chest infection set in, told me I hadn't wasted anyone's time it's what they're there for.

Breathing difficulties always frightening but felt reassured, he even held my hand and talked me through an attack.

So very grateful to everyone and a special mention to lovely Jim.
