Anything else?
I walked into A&E and was kept in bed for an operation and a week of treatment and care.
The professionalism of all staff of all levels was exemplary, as was the kindness and care given to to me. I was consulted on every decision and everything was explained to me. The areas I saw were kept very clean.
The food, while healthy and filling, was not very nice (although breakfasts and puddings were OK), and choice had always diminished by my (far) end of the ward. The catering manager took time to come around and ask patients what we thought of the food, and discussed my complaints with me and asked for details so he could follow them up. They are clearly trying very hard - but what can hospitals do with the minuscule amount they have to spend on food (my excuse not his)?
"Excellent care."
