"Exemplary Care by Coronary Care Unit"

About: Glenfield Hospital

Anything else?

My husband was rushed to the Coronary Care Unit following a heart attack. He is was a fit and healthy and then very scared 60 year old. The care was second to none. From start of heart attack at home to fitting stents and going to the ward was a total of 3 hours. It saved damage to his heart. The emergency staff, nursing and ancillary staff were amazing and treated him like a vulnerable human being rather than a number. The wards were very clean without having that "hospital" smell.

Food was not gourmet but we don't pay for that either. There was plenty of choice and was very palatable.

And, yes, the car park cost me £6 per day - but the bus fare would have been much higher and I had the convenience of being on the doorstep so am not complaining.

Overall, I hope we never have to visit a hospital again (because it will mean that either one of us are ill), but if we do then I hope its Glenfield General.

And "Thank You most sincerely" to all the people who saved and looked after my husband.

Dear Jean, Thank you for sharing your experience. We have passed it on to the staff in the unit who will be very happy to hear your kind words. We hope your husband is making a good recovery.
