I attended my follow up appointment at the Fartown Health Centre to be assessed by the Community COPD Service.
All members of staff treated me with respect and dignity, from arriving at reception throughout my time there.
The building is impeccably clean and safe. I not only have COPD but also am currently undergoing counselling for depression which makes me nervous of going to out on my own. I felt safe and comfortable there.
I was diagnosed with Emphysema at the age of 28 and have been under consultants at Huddersfield HRI since then. In February last year; because my condition is chronic but stable, I along with others was referred to the Community COPD Clinic and know that I am in safe hands.
I would particularly like to thank Trish and Sarah who put me at ease and answer any questions I have to my satisfaction. I am knowledgeable about my condition due to my research and the information given to me when required.
I have asked for advice and been supplied with choices, which I take on board and we discuss the best way forward.
I was supplied today with a DVD of exercises designed for people with COPD.
All of the staff make what could be an unpleasant experience a lot easier to handle.
