"Cancelled operation - twice"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Urology

(as a relative),

My brother who has mild dementia was due to have a prostate operation in January. Having laid on a trolley all day, he was told at the end of the day that due to emergencies the operation was cancelled and he was sent home. The re-scheduled operation was due on this Monday. As no transport was available, he was driven to the hospital and waited his turn. His notes could not be found on the computer. How this can happen heavens only knows and at 3 o'clock he was sent home again. This is totally unacceptable practice, especially for a man who finds it difficult to cope with anything out of the ordinary. Shame on you East Surrey Hospital.
