About: Nevill Hall Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I turned up at the hospital at 12am Monday night, I was only 3 cm dilated,

I was sent to the maternity ward, then at 2am my waters broke. I was having contractions every 5 mins till 6 am. Then they stopped. My midwife was Helen. She was amazing. ( I never had chance to thank her). She was with me from 7am till 7pm, her whole shift. Then I had all different midwives. Then 7am came around again, and I had Helen again. She was so good at her job she never left my side, she explained everything that was happening, honestly lovely woman. Really really amazing at her job! Then 7pm came, (still in active labour),

Helen was told to clock off, however she left my side at 8pm.

My midwife then was Emma and a traniee Eva, both again amazing and I never thanked them. Helen actually called to see if I had the baby at 11pm, still no baba.

Then I had baby at 1. 41am Friday morning, via c section.

Reason I'm talking about this is I feel gutted I never thanked the girls that delivered my beauiful little girl. I have sent a card but I don't feel it's enough.

Thank you very much for your comments about your recent experience in the Maternity Ward at Nevill Hall Hospital. We are always glad to have feedback from patients and I have sent your comments to the Head of Midwifery, who will certainly pass them on to the the midwives concerned. It sounds like you had a long labour, but I am sure it all seemed worthwhile when your beautiful baby girl was delivered! Congratulations on the birth of your little girl and best wishes for the future.
