Following a hysterectomy, I was a patient on ward M5 at the Doncaster Royal Infirmary. The staff on the ward were nearly always very good - whenever I needed any assistance after the operation, someone was always there to attend to me promptly.
However, on the day of the operation, the nurse on duty forgot to give me an injection to help ease the discomfort following the operation. Also, the same nurse denied my request for my husband to be present with me after my operation. This upset me, as I really needed someone to be with me at that time.
