"Very grateful"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

I went to the Urgent Care Centre after having massive pain spikes with an abscess in my mouth on Saturday. I arrived at 6am and the place was barren apart from one receptionist, who was helpful and polite. As expected my wait was minimal. I was seen, I spoke of my pain problems and my inability to sleep and was immediately given my antibiotics and pain medication. There was a small problem with incorrect medication, but that was cleared up quickly, and I appreciate how urgently the staff responded to the mistake (I was potentially allergic, I was when I was child, but I think the risk is low.)

If I had to complain, it would be the painkiller was a fairly weak 15mg Codeine Phosphate (the pain has been likened to child birth) but I think that was perhaps my fault for not stressing the severity of the pain.

I also felt - and this is just me thinking aloud - that perhaps the medication was too easy to receive. Convenient, but easy to abuse for those with a different angle.

Thanks a lot :)
