My younger sister was recently admitted with a painful eye condition. I am unfortunately disabled and cannot visit her so thought I would send her some flowers. On phoneing the hospital I discover that no flowers are allowed. What has happened to the NHS ? Even if you are blind you can appreciate the smell of flowers and she is not blind as she still has one eye. I used to be a Londontrained nurse and have never met this sort of opposition before. Is it health and safety gone mad and who on earth makes these assenine rules? Flowers do not carry contagious diseases and do a lot to cheer a patient in distress or pain. Medicines have improved I know but this is where care has not. Perhaps your nurses are too busy to change the water or carry them to the wards I have Multiple Sclerosis and fortunately have two good eyes still so hopefully will not be having to visit you as a patient.
I cannot fill in your website truthfully as I have not yet been able to visit.
