"TRAQS audiology appointment referral"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

First experience of TRAQS. Visited GP at the beginning of October to request a referral to the audiology department. Had not heard anything by the end of Nov so contacted the GPs secretary who phoned me back saying I would receive a phone call later that day or the next. This did not come. A week later I received a letter from TRAQS (first time I had heard of that department). The tone of the letter suggested that my request had been passed to the audiology department on receipt of the phone call from the GPs secretary and that I had to wait for an appointment. Some indication of waiting time would have been appreciated. The later came a couple of weeks later (sooner than I expected).

I attended the clinic and was treated kindly and helpful.

Thank you for your feedback following your recent referral via TRAQS.

I am disappointed to hear that your GP did not provide you with the TRAQS patient leaflet. Every GP practice in the Telford and Wrekin area has been provided with a supply to hand to every patient who is referred to TRAQS for further treatment. The leaflet explain what TRAQS is and what to expect next.

Unfortunately as the hospitals manage the waiting lists themselves TRAQS are unable to give any indication of how long a patient may wait for an audiology appointment.

I am glad that you have now attended an appointment and that your wait was not too long.
