My son, a student nurse on his way to work, was trapped in his car after being hit by a van on the border of Lincs and Cambs.
The first people on the scene were clinical staff also travelling to work. They were marvellous with him, assessing and making him feel safe.
The emergency crews came from both counties but worked together to ensure he was safe and cut him from his vehicle to put him on a spinal board. All three services were excellent.
We travelled to Peterborough City Hospital where he was seen in ED. Within 3hours he had been assessed and xrayed and passed as clear to be allowed home. I realise that it was early and ED was quieter than it can be but everyone worked politely and efficiently. My son felt supported and calm throughout the ordeal, this is more than can be said for me as his mother! Supported yes but calm no! I can't thank everyone enough, the staff that stopped to help on their way to work, Crowland and Spalding Fire Crews, Lincs police, Ambulance crew from East Midlands and Paramedic car from Cambs.
