Anything else?
I have an inflammatory condition that requires regular checks and pain relief. I've never been seen by a consultant only by her registrars (by someone new every time I visited the hospital). They keep cancelling my appointments.
On two occasions when I was unwell and experienced severe pain in several joints (I barely could walk) I called the Rheumatology secretaries to get a steroid injection. I was told that the consultant would call me back. She didn't, so I called again many times over the following days. Eventually, I was given steroids by a registrar who was patronising and made me feel ridiculed when commenting on my joints not being very swollen. (She'd clearly never had rheumatic pain herself.)
Insensitive, indifferent staff. Would not recommend the Rheumatology department at Homerton. I'm thinking about going elsewhere myself.
