"Staff on Ward L1 have changed my mind about the health service"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

(as the patient),

I went to see a consultant because of my illness. I hadn't been seen by anyone since I was diagnosed when I was 19. I am now 53. I was taken in for tests and I was in Ward L1 at Royal Hallamshire Hospital Sheffield.

This ward's staff put me at ease. They showed me how much they care for people and my previous experience's were slowing disappearing.

I came home but had a bad experience with a new drug. I was left dry and I had slurred speech. When my friends contacted them for advice they showed me that even though I had left they would help. They brought my files from another place, spoke to the consultant and got my friend to get me checked over at A and E at my local hospital.

This ward is fantastic they need to know how much I appreciate what they have done for me.

10 out of 10 is not enough, neither is thank you. I wish I could say and do more to show you how my views are changing because of you all.

Dear Roz281

Thank you for your kind words about the staff on L1 at The Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The staff do provide a fantastic service and should be highly commended for their efforts; it really boosts the staff though when they hear this directly from patients, so thanks again.

I hope you continue to make a good recovery following your stay with us.
