About: Hillingdon Hospital

Anything else?

My mother was admitted to hospital on 14.2.14 with severe back pain. So severe she could not get out of her chair. She was left in a cubicle in A & E with no attention and no bell to be able to get a nurse when she wanted to go to the toilet. Therefore her pads she was wearing together with her trouser were so wet you could ring them out. They did eventually take an xray of her back but did not advise either her or my daughter the results.

She was then transferred to assessment overnight and the same occurred there. On Thursday 14.02.13 they called her daugher to say they were discharing her although she still could not move or get up from a chair to go to the toilet. Upon myself picking her up again her pads were so wet they could have been rung out. I (her daughter) had to take her to the toilet to change her pads. Her trousers were alo wet. I stated that I did not accept she was able to be discharged as it was obvious she could not move myself with the extreme pain in her kidney region.

I (her daughter) had to shower her to clean her up. The rapid response team then came round to her home ( these were very nice and tried to help) . Even they agreed she was not ready to be at home and they decided to call another ambulance to take her back into hospital. I have not heard anything yet today.

If an aray did not show kidney infection it would not actually show if there was kidney stone. Only a scan could show this which has not been done.

It is not surpising this hospital has the virus when patients are left sitting in dirty and wet clothes. My mother does know I am making this comlaint on her behalf.

We are very sorry to read about your experience in our A&E department and would very much wish to address the specific concerns you raise and this is diffcult to do whilst we do not know which patient this refers to. We would very much welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss and investigate these very serious matters. Please contact our PALS office on 01895 279973.

We strive to attain a high standard of care and it is most disappointing to read of such a detressing experience for you and your mother.
