Anything else?
I was diagnosed with kidney cancer in April 2011. The referral from my GP was immediate. Was it stones or cancer. It turned out to be TCC in my kidney, I was passed on to an excellent and efficient surgeon, I had my kidney removed on 27th May 2011, I was on the ward for 11 days and received excellent care. The after care received has also been second to none. Information given and follow up scans, I cannot be more happy.
Only one small complaint,, I was moved to another ward for the last 3-4 days and the care for two of the ladies in the ward with me was less than excellent. I had to remind the nurse in charge to give a lady who was in great pain from an urinary tract infection that she was an hour overdue for her morphine, I think this was a handover problem. Also one care worker spoke out loud to a nurse regarding bladder cancer and that she had been told that just a tiny cell could mean death. (a lady in the bed next to me had just had a chemo wash for bladder cancer) I did speak to nurse when I came back to be 'TWC'd and assume that she would have referred back ( the young lady concerned would have benefited from some one on one supervision regarding what is appropriate speak about in front of patients.
Regardless of this I am extremely happy with the service Lister provides.
