"Poor care at Fazakerley"

I was hit by a bus outside the Fazakerley hospital, and was taken to A&E by a porter and a nurse. I told them that I had TB, but that it was not infectious and I had medicine prescribed for it. I was firstly given pain relief and then transferred to a private room where I was left on my own without any attention for 2 hours. After this length of time, I needed the toilet, and a nurse told me to go back into the room and she would arrange for a commode to be brought, but this never happened.

When a doctor finally saw me, he just examined my left ribs and right foot. He looked at the cuts and bruises on my knees. He then said, “Do you have a good GP? I suggest you go and see him.”, and sent me home.

The next day, I returned to the hospital vomiting blood and having difficulty breathing. I was taken in to the same room again, but this time told to wear a mask (even though I told them my TB was not infectious). I was taken for an x-ray and then kept in overnight, and told to keep my mask on at all times.

When I eventually left hospital, I told my TB nurse about this treatment, and she was very annoyed and upset because it clearly states on my TB card ‘not infectious’.
