"Alzheimers patient poor treatment"

About: Lister Hospital

Anything else?

My wife suffers from Alzheimers and had a fall and needed a ambulance and was taken to A&E. Advised everything was ok had some soft tissue damage no fractures but they kept her in for a few days.

I Visited her every day, they advised they would take her up some stairs to check she was ok to come home., She was taken outside with only a nightdress on in a cold area. She wanted to go toilet but they wanted to try the stairs first. Husband not very happy. She did not manage the stairs on this occasion so tests were completed the following day in my absence. I then collected my wife to go home.

After a week still screaming in pain, i took my wife to hospital again to A&E after 5 hours waiting and another xray they advised my wife has fractured her pelvis. I was not happy as the first time they said nothing was wrong. I advised i wanted to sue. I was shown the first xray the following day, the matron advised a black mark on the xray could of been a layer of fat which was covering the fracture.

The hospital said there was no negligence, because of the black mark there was

nothing visible to see.

I have numerous other issues on other occasions when my wife has been to this hospital including not enough staff and long waiting times before my wife got seen.

My self and my wife would rather not use this hospital in the future unless we had no choice.

On the whole the staff do there best with the limited staff and resources they have.
