"Outpatient appt cancellations"

Anything else?

I have had 3 appts cancelled for the opthalmic outpatient dept. Onw within a few days of receiving it. What is going on ?

When I phoned to complain about this I was told it was because a Dr/Consltant had left. In the end I decided to cancel all future appts. I was not a happy patient!! I personally believe it is due to number crunching to meet targets but just how much is all this unecessary appt/cancellation costing the NHS?? Quite a lot if one takes into account the administration hours involved!!
