"Wonderful Childrens Ward"

About: King's Mill Hospital

Anything else?

My little boy stayed on Ward 25 this week, as a day patient, and I stayed with him. I want to say how much I appreciate how well we were looked after. The doctors and nurses were very kind and always had time to help. My son (7) had the very best treatment, and the staff made every effort to minimise his pain and fears. In addition, a doctor was very kind when I was tired and worried in the afternoon.

When we were ready to leave, his medications were ready and his aftercare was very carefully explained.

In the afternoon, there was an emergency on the ward which was audible to other patients, and the staff were wonderful. They dealt with the problem in a very professional manner, and their calm kindness greatly minimised everyone's worries. I cannot praise the staff enough for their efficiency, thoroughness and care. I would recommend the children's ward very highly to other parents. The food was also very nice, and this was much appreciated as well. The anaethetist and other theatre staff were also very kind and calming.

My son has hearing problems and was very scared about going to hospital, but he did not find it a difficult experience at all. He was discharged with no pain and has had no complications.
