Last year I was diagnosed with a serious heart condition which has been complicated by some treatment I had when I was younger.
Shortly after my diagnosis I received a telephone call from Lucy who introduced herself as my ‘Community Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse’. At the time I thanked her for ringing me but I must admit that I did not think that I would need her help.
However, Lucy has been a brilliant and invaluable support to me. She has on several occasions gone out of her way to chase up test results and appointments to save me the stress and worry and I do not think she realizes how valuable a support this has been for me at this difficult time. I always know that if Lucy says she will do something or that she will ring, she does, which in this day and age is quite a rarity!
Lucy has kept in regular contact with me and is always helpful, caring and patient.
I know that Lucy is just doing her job, but wanted to express my thanks and gratitude as I feel that she goes above and beyond the call of duty and is an excellent ambassador for her profession and Dewsbury hospital.
