"Hearing Consultant / baha implant"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham

Anything else?

I am severely deaf and I have seen a Hearing Consultant and his team who have been absolutely superb in the way they have dealt with me. The consultant confirmed that a baha abutment implant was my best option and he gave me a date on my first visit, as to when the surgery could be done.

I have recently had the surgery as a day case under local anaesthetic to fit an abutment above my right ear, again the service that I received by the consultant was superb, also the way I was treated from start to finish on the Ambulatory day care ward was second to none.

Although my treatment is ongoing for a few weeks , its an absolute pleasure for me to go the Q.E. hospital, I am sure that a lot of hospitals could learn a massive amount from the way things are done at the Q.E. Its a massive thanks from me.
