"my first visit to Queens for treatment"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

Anything else?

yesterday, for the first time, I attended the Day Surgery Unit for injections in my spine under the care of an excellent and caring doctor.

The attention and courtesy of your staff were outstanding. The unit was welcoming and professional and I was particularly impressed by the manner in which the staff introduced themselves - this was particularly true of two particular members of staff. I was a little anxious, at the age of 82, about my visit but the friendly, smiling approach from your people would have put anybody at their ease.

my overall impression was of genuine care and prfessionalism. In my own career, I was a M/D of a large company in the service industry and I well appreciate that you may experience more complaints than commendations. However, I believe that good service and courtesy should be acknowledged and such is my experience of your Hospital. Thank you. Sincerely yours, Brian Kelleher

Dear Mr Kelleher,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your comments about your experience of the Pain Management Service at Queen’s Hospital.

People are often quick to tell us when their care has not gone well and I am delighted to be able to pass onto our staff a job well done for making your experience so positive.

I have copied your comments to the managers of the services in order for them to ensure that your appreciation is shared with the people who made such a difference to you.

Yours sincerely,

Gary Etheridge

Deputy Director of Nursing
