About: Bridgnorth Hospital

Anything else?

Hi I had the unfortunate task of taking my child to A & E. Firstly i must say the nursing and assisting staff were excellent but shame the same can not be said for the receptionist. I have had the misfortune to come across them on many occasion so can not put their bad mood down to one incident, every and I mean every time i have to go in there myself and other patients are treated the same...we are all made to feel we are taking up precious time and should get out of their way...I am sorry this is so harsh, but felt it was about time I said something, as this person is the first impression you get of our wonderful hospital and have to say i shudder to think what visitors would think. About time they had some serious re-training or was replaced

Response from Soma Moulik, PALS/FOI/Complaints Manager, Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust

Dear Service User

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your feedback. Due to a technical issue, the Trust was not alerted to your story until yesterday afternoon.

First of all let me start by saying how sorry I am that your experience of our services at Bridgnorth hospital was not entirely a positive one due to the poor attitude and behaviour of the receptionist. You are absolutely right in saying that we need to put this right as the receptionist is the first person you come across when you visit the hospital and it is vital that visitors and patients are greeted with a smile and dealt with in a polite, helpful and friendly manner. We will certainly take your comments on board and do something about it to ensure that patients' experience can be improved. We will be able to look into this objectively if you are able to provide us additional information, for. e.g. date of your visit, etc. I will be more than happy to discuss this with you if you wish, please call me to discuss or email me your telephone number and I will call you back.

It is pleasing to know that you were happy with the nursing care received at Bridgnorth Minor Injuries Unit (we do not have an A&E) and thank you for your feedback which is invaluable to us.

I will certainly take this up with the Hospital Manager but I will be grateful if you could call or email us to discuss your concerns and help us to address the issue.

May I take this opportunity to thank you once again for taking the time to tell us your experience.

Kind regards

Soma Moulik
