"Rotherham Hospital "

About: Rotherham Hospital

(as a staff member),

I have worked within the trust as a few years now as a secretary of staff and have just read some of the comments. It is nice that Rotherham Hospital gets some praise. The problem is that patients dont realise what goes on behind the scences. Such as Consultants putting in extra time and speaking from personal experience I care 100% about the patients and have gone out of my way to help people as do many other members of staff. It was really nice to have a patient thank me the other day for sorting an appointment out for them it meant so much to get thanked as it just gets regarded as being your job! There are issues with staffing levels on wards etc and there are changes being made all the time. People have got to realise how lucky we are to have an NHS where we dont have to pay for our care.

Thank you for taking the time to post an opinion on the website.

The perceptions and opinions of patients and staff are very important to the whole organisation. As you recognise, it is due to the hard work of the staff that we are able to deliver such high quality care, making Rotherham Foundation Trust one of the most successful hospitals in the region.

We accept that we still have some way to go to improve patients and carers experience of our organisation, but also realise that patients are partners in their care, and it is good when they acknowledge the hard work that staff put into making that care the best it can be, by offering a simple thank you.
