I have been an outpatient at salford royal hospital rheumatology dept for the past 12 months. whilst attending the clinic under normal appointment conditions under the care of mr chinoy we managed to keep my gout at bay for over 12 months with recommended changes to my medication, I have recently had an a quite attack of gout to my elbow and any body who suffers with gout will understand the pain I was in.

I endured this for two nights, no sleep, fevers, pain.

As a last resort I decided to call in at the rheumatology department at salford royal hospital, the waiting room was full as usual it would have been easy to turn me away and I would have fully understood.

The nurse I spoke too could see the pain I was in and asked me to wait a moment, 15 minutes later I was being examined by the on call rhematology doctor after various tests he recommended a steroid injection I agreed to the injection and 24 hrs later I have 90% mobility in my elbow and have two good nights sleep.
