"calling 111 for advice on a diabetes problem"

(as a relative),

I live in croydon with my partner. I phoned the 111 number as my partner was feeling dizzy and confused.

I spoke to a lady called meliaah I think. she asked us some questions and spoke to my partner to see how he was feeling. she asked plenty of questions. she quick realised that he is having problems keeping his diabetes under control and this may have caused him to feel the way he did.

She gave him some advice to eat something sweet and he felt better in moments but also arranged for a doctor to call us back to make sure that he was okay afterwards. I had not called 111 before but was so happy with the gentle reassuring person on the end of the phone. my partner thought the service was 'bl**dy great' he said, in his own words!

Cant ask for better than that. nice to know this service is available at any time. will be using it if god forbid anything else was to happen to either of us.
