Anything else?
I took my husband to A&E after he had already been treated at Lewisham hospital the day before, he had broken his wrist and required surgery. I always use the Princess Royal as I am used to the layout, the parking and how to get there, bearing in mind that I am the designated driver for the next 12 weeks I didn't need any extra stress. I had already confirmed with Lewisham hospital and our GP that it was okay to switch to a hospital which is nearer to where we live. I spoke to a receptionist on the phone who was very blunt and unhelpful, and then when we arrived the streaming nurse told us we were better off staying with Lewisham as the Orthopedic surgeons here were not very good and unlikely to repair the damage. We stuck to our guns and saw a triage nurse who was really nice and very understanding, he arranged for us to see an Orthopedic consultant. My husband was very uncomfortable and fed up with being kept waiting, but eventually the consultant had the great news that there was a bed for the night and that the surgery would be done the following day. The staff on surgical ward 4 were very efficient and answered all our questions, they are a credit to your hospital unlike the first staff we encountered.
