"six week chemoradiation treatment"

About: The James Cook University Hospital

Anything else?

my husband was diagnosed with cancer of the larynx in june 2012. His treatment commenced late July when a mask was moulded for him to wear during the course of the treatment which took place as an outpatient appointment every day over the period. The staff were always polite and extremely helpful from the consultant to all the support staff in chemotherapy and radiology. As the treatment progressed the side-effects became much more severe but at every hurdle he was given advice and pain relief drugs. We cannot fault the care, compassion and efficiency of the Head an Neck Team in ENT who made quite a potentially traumatic experience much more bearable. Thank you all so much.

Thank you for your kind words regarding care the care and treatment that your husband received from The James Cook University Hospital. It is always pleasing to receive positive feedback and I shall certainly forward your comments to the staff involved who I am sure will be equally pleased to read them.

It may interest you to know the trust runs a ‘Thank You Award’ scheme where NHS colleagues, patients and relatives can nominate staff in recognition of their work. These are presented throughout the year for acts above the call of duty or where staff have shown exceptional kindness towards patients and their relatives. Please contact the chairman’s office on 01642 854151 or email deborah.jenkins@stees.nhs.uk

Kind Regards
