Anything else?
I recently visited the fracture clinic to have my plaster off following a broken wrist. The nursing staff and plaster department were excellant and helped me very much after I had fainted. They made me comfortable and explained that it can happen and not to worry. They arranged for the consultant to come and see me and check me out and were helpful in re explaining the exercises I was to do.
I would say that overall my experience in A&E and then the fracture clinic was very good, however I found the consultant did not explain things well or give enough detail surrounding the exercises or expected recovery times. It would have been usesful to have been given some sort of document explaining this. I have after the event found useful information on the subject from other hospital fracture clinics on line.
