Anything else?
My dad was taken into Broomfield a and e in October 2012 the care he received was nothing short of horrific. He waited in agony on a trolley for over two hours and when he did finally got given a bed the nurse's care and attitude was appalling. She told my father that there was nothing wrong with him despite an out of hours gp ringing 999 for him and told in his opinion that it was a renal stones and a urinary tract infection. The nurse in question put in a cannula without asking his permission and told him to stay awake even though he had 2 doses of morphine, tramadol and metoclopramide all of which make you sleepy. She even had the cheek to say that it was my dad's fault that his oxygen saturations were 88% and that he wasn't breathing properly but one of the side effects of morphine is a lowered respiration rate and any nurse worth their time should know this. I have to mention that I am a third year student nurse in my last six months of my training and if I even spoke to a patient like that I would be struck off my course. My father was diagnosed as having a double kidney infection but was discharged without antibiotics which I had to obtain myself from our GP. The only compliment I can give is to the wonderful receptionist that kept me informed of everything that was going on. But for an establishes a and e department that is pathetic.
All I can say is avoid at all costs.
"Disgusted"
