"not impressed"

About: Peterlee Community Hospital

Anything else?

I took my 9 week old son here as he had a high temp, generally unseltted not feeding as normal and sleepy. He has CF and we were left to wait in the waiting room for 50 mins before seeing triage. I understand and appriciate there is a waiting system but surely children take priority. I was then told by triage that he could see a gp as he is only small, they completely dismissed everything and anything i was saying regarding his CF. then told me the doctor had 2-3 people to see then would be having his dinner then another 1-2 people before us so would be around a 2 hour wait. I said this was not good enough and her comments where well he looks settled enough to me!! never again will i go here. not for anything. I was offered an appointment at 4 pm (it was just before 12 at this point) now trying to cancel as taking my son elsewhere but no one is answering the phone!

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on NHS Choices. We are sorry to learn of your poor experience when you attended our hospital in January of this year. We would like to assure you that the care you received is not to the standard we aim to deliver to our patients and we are disappointed to learn of your experience. We would like to apologise for your experience and hope that your son is fully recovered.
