"Consultants Letter"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

Anything else?

I have just received a copy of a consultants letter after seeing them on December 10th 2012. At this time the clinic was overunning, as they do sometimes, by a considerable amount of time. I asked a nurse how long I was likely to be as it was now 10.50and my appt was 10.10 and no-one had posted on the board that the clinic was overunning, she told me that it was by 20 mins?? I have, as I said, received my clinic letter, a copy of which has also gone to my GP, in which the connsultant says I was 'perturbed' about the wait and then goes onto explain about the paitents previous to me and their diagnosis. Apart from the fact I was NOT 'perturbed' I was merely asking why when they have the board to keep patients informed, were they not using it ? - what has [ if anything] this to do with my GP may I ask.?

Thank you for your comments posted on this website concerning waiting times at Wansbeck General Hospital.

Patient feedback is very important to us and I would like to thank you for your comment. I will ask our Chief Matron to remind all patient waiting areas to keep patient informed of any overruns and would like to apologise that this was not communicated to you via the notice boards. I am unable to comment on the consultant’s letter. Thank you for taking the time to write.
