"Very poor!"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

What I liked

I have not been impressed at anything to do with this experience at Queens

What could be improved

Parking was insufficient

Quality of organisation is shockingly poor

Politeness of staff, I was made to feel I was in the wrong.

Anything else?

I have been waiting to have one wisdom teeth removed.

I was refered by Dentists over two years ago and attanded an initial consultation at Queens, I was told I would be informed of the procedure date and it should be relatively straightforward. Queens never contacted me again, when I contacted them again at the clinic to chase things up I was told that I was wrong and I had never attanded an initial consultation, essentially I was lying!

So went to my Dentist and sought a second referal, it has taken 6 months for the appointment to come round for the initial consultation. Went for the appointment today after booking a day off work and was told that they couldn't see me and they couldn't give me another appointment and they would call me...again!

I'm very supportive of the NHS and usually the care is excellent, but Queens Hospital seems to be choatic in the quality of care and system organisation. It beggers belief that this is a service for the tax paying public. This is not a moan at the health care professionals, but at the management and organisation. This is not a service that is fit for purpose.

Dear Phusking,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience about the Oral and Maxillofacial Department at Queen’s Hospital.

I was concerned to read about your experience and that you still have not received a new appointment date.

I would appreciate it if you could please contact a member of the Patient Advice and Liaison Services (PALS) on 01708 435454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk who will be happy to assist you in rescheduling your appointment.

Yours sincerely,

Gary Etheridge

Deputy Director of Nursing
