"Needed more information about booking an appointment and felt rushed "

About: Tamar Referral & Appointments Centre

(as the patient),

Would have appreciated information on how I would be contacted to make an appointment, and felt rather rushed into making a decision about the time of my appointment.

Response from Gemma Smith, Tamar Referral & Appointments Centre (TRAC)

Dear ‘Gradual252’

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience and I can only apologise that you did not have the information you needed when we contacted you.

When your GP decides to refer you for a consultant opinion, you should be given a patient information leaflet to let you know the Tamar Referral Appointments Centre (TRAC) team will contact you directly to book an appointment for you. This is the normal process for the majority of our patients and we work closely with GP practices in the area to make sure they provide this information to you.

As part of our links with our GPs we send regular reminders to make sure patients get the information they need first time. If you are happy to share a little more information with me I will be able to feedback to your practice directly to ensure all patients are given the patient information leaflet when they are referred. We could also look into the details of the conversation you had with TRAC and share our learning with the team.

If you are happy to do so please contact me on 01626 883712, I work Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm. Alternatively you can contact me via email on cab.helpdesk@nhs.net.

I hope to hear from you and the remainder of your care went well.

Kind regards

Gemma Tremlett
