I got referred to the Physio Dept because of back pain.
The physiotherapist that I have been given is not on the ball. On second appointment I arrive ten minutes early. Twenty five minutes later the physio takes me through. Half way into the examination someone tells the physio treating me their next patient is waiting. I get asked what time was my appointment, half past or quarter to? I say half past. It was them that gave me the appointment and they wrote the time in diary so no excuses.
The Physio Dept has a self-referral system so you don't need a GP to refer you. Never thought that much of the examination that I got for my back, it felt really basic and this was a lesson at school.
Twice I have asked the physio on separate occasions about something and twice the reply I got was, you have been referred here for lower back pain. Do they expect me to fill in a self referral form for each section of my back, mid and upper back, before I get any treatment or is this just being lazy and wanting to do as little as possible?
I am now getting treatment from a Private Clinic for my back pain and boy what a difference in examination and treatment.
I always thought a physio was a physio but no, the private clinic is making the NHS physio I got look well under par. They need to do a lot more homework.
"Poor experience of the physio department"
