Anything else?
Originally went into the emergency assesment ward where the nurses were very good but overworked. Went into the emergency assesment ward with high diabetic readings and whilst there had to beg and wait for the relevant foods for the condition, the bed was fitted with dirty sheets as there were no clean ones available.
Was then referred to Cardiology where I was told they also specialised in diabetic conditions; the doctor did not seem to have any time for the patients and we were advised to look up information regarding diabetes on the internet, surely the doctor should be giving all the information to the patients directly?
We were also told we would recieve a careplan and would be seen by a dietician over the period of time we were at the hospital we recieved neither a careplan or saw a dietician.
The basic care was diabolical highlighted by the lack of food and dirty sheets.
The nurses seem to be doing all they can but the system seems to be over working them and letting them down.
"Bound by a system that doesn't work."
