What I liked
Dear sir, I am writing to express my apreciation of the excellent treatment that I have recently received at Torbay Hospital.
On 26 December I awoke with severe disruption to my vision. I hav been treated for Macular degeneration for five years and I am being treated for glaucoma, so any further deterioration is bad news. I attended Casualty and although it was crowdedI I was seen after only a brief wait. The doctor diagnosed a TIA and referred me to Forrest Ward Emergency eye clinic at noon. I was seen by a Consultant who took my history and examined my eyes. He concurred in the diagnosis and referred me to the TIA Clinic at 2pm. the following day. He took various blood samples and said the results would be available at the clinic.
I attended the clinic where I was given an ECG ,blood pressure was taken and I had a scan of my carotid arteries and was seen by another doctor. She concurred in thhe TIA diagnosis gave me advice and prescribed medication. All staff throughout were friendly and helpful and I was dealt with very promptly even thoug it was over a Bank Holiday period.. My wife and I agreed that even if I had been a member of the most expensive Prvate Healthcare scheme I could not have received better treatment.
Yours sincerely William Baron
