"Hernia repair & ward 5A"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I had surgery to repair a large incisional hernia recently at Pilgrim Hospital, I experienced wonderful care and total professionalism. My surgeon was Dr. Otabeck Yangibaev, he is truly the kindest and most caring Doctor I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I spent almost a week on ward 5A, all of the staff were amazing, and I am extremely grateful for the care that I received. Sadly our local hospital gets some very negative press, as we all know a bad word travels much faster that a good one. I have nothing but praise for the wonderful people who cared me, thank you to you all.

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us your story. I am delighted that everything went so well for you and hope that you are continuing to recover.

You are right that the press tends to tell the not so good stories - but both good and bad there is always something to learn and build on and we really appreciate you taking the time to tell us about your experience.

I have shared this with the team and particularly to Mr. Otabeck and the staff on Ward 5A. Thank you again.
