After reading so many bad reports about St Helier, I thought I'd share mine and now I never go to St Helier A&E, I refuse to go there.
I have had a few incidents at St Helier, including failing to diagnose a prolapsed womb after the birth of my daughter (diagnosed by a different hospital shortly after visiting St Helier) and also the removal of my gall bladder due to abdominal pain when in fact the problem seems to have been being caused by my appendix.
Had to go to St Helier earlier this year as I couldn't pass urine and hadn't been for nearly 24hrs (I've had this a few times & sometimes self catheterise - Ran outta Catheters at the time).
I needed them to put a Catheter with a Bag, so it could drain & a doctor who I've seen a few times recognised me on arrival, and told me to go to the bathroom and encourage myself to go with putting taps on etc. So I went in the Bathroom & 10mins later came out with an empty pot...I'd had enough by this time. I feel the doctor was very flippant in telling me to go when I hadn't been able to go for 24hrs. So I just decided to Walk out without saying anything, was walking out the doors when a nice nurse came & gave me a bunch of catheters that I could self-catheterise with until I'd got my own.
I do not and & will not ever go to St Helier anymore, even if I need an Ambulance, they are willing to go to St Georges for me. All my care is at/under ST Georges Hospital!
