What I liked

The staff in A & E were friendly and efficient. The Doctors were helpful.

What could be improved

I was transferred onto AMU early hours of the morning, ward was noisy but very busy.

The nursing staff were fine but the attitude of the consultant was appalling, told me my xray was normal when i hadn't even had an xray and said that my symptoms were all in my head as i am a nurse and said i had clinical knowledge. Following this test results showed a result consistent with my symptoms but no apology was forthcoming from the consultant. I will not be telling the medical staff what job i do next time as it definitely caused bias in my case.

I was discharged the next day with no follow up and have since had 2 other admissions with the same problem. Would not go back to Good Hope again unless i was unconscious and unable to make that decision.

Consultants should treat all patients the same regardless of their background.

Anything else?

I felt patronised and was aware that other patients and visitors were able to hear what was going on.... what happened to my dignity and respect????
