"Mental health care and my GP"

I went to see my GP, he noticed I'd never been seen by the same GP twice and hadn't been seen in 4 months, despite the fact I was supposed to be on continued check-ups for medication and mental health. I'd been discharged from the primary mental health care, which I'd not been told about, and was left with no support.

He's been absolutely fantastic since that appointment. I have ended up in A&E seeing the crisis team since, but he saw me last week and today and is seeing me next week. He listens to what I have to say and is careful and gentle. He doesn't try to drag anything out of me and seems to be really genuine and actually care about me, rather then throwing drugs at me and deciding that that will be that. He is now changing my medication but is seeing me a few days after going on it, to make sure that everything's okay.

He's been incredibly supportive and very good at listening to me. He checks everything out before prescribing anything and is incredibly thorough. After experiencing just about every GP in the surgery for the past 3/4 years, while being under the care of CAMHs (who were absolutely fantastic) and having many of them shrug me off, try to prescribe me more drugs (or the pill, apparently, because I'm a teenage girl, the pill will solve every single problem in my life!), it is so nice and refreshing to have such a wonderful GP :-)
