About: Musgrove Park Hospital (Taunton)

What I liked

Nothing!

What could be improved

After being diagnosed with a porcelain gallbladder back in June by a radiologist I have since had numerous tests, CT scans, MRI scans and conversations on telephones with various doctors and consultants, I finally had an appointment today with a Surgeon, (or so I thought!)

I arrived at the north outpatients department was taken to a side corridor and told to wait. The person I was seeing was running 30 mins late.

I finally got in to see him expecting him to now tell me with all the notes present what we were going to do now.

Instead he admitted that he wasn’t a radiologist, he didn’t know how to interpret the scan results and said he would need clarification from them before he went any further. What was the point of the visit? Why wasn’t the letter I had on file ?

I have waited 6 months to see someone and am none the wiser on when my condition will be treated. The hospital administration needs addressing and so does the arrogance of some of the Doctors!

Anything else?

We had parked in the multi storey – One ticket machine and a queue of about 10 deep.

The total cost of my visit – one full days pay ( loss of work) plus £4.80 car park fee.
