About: Bristol Eye Hospital

What could be improved

A poorly managed hospital, it was like a Cambodian war zone. Bodies up against bodies coughing& spluttering, some with bloody dressings leaning up against walls. Not an inch of space to move. Patients queued up along corridors to to top of the stairwell to get treatment. Every corridor heaving with sick and elderly bodies. An absolute fire hazzard. Nurses still cheerful bot oh so tired and i was told this was a good day! This is the NHS system. an absolute disgrace.

Response from Bristol Eye Hospital

We are sorry to hear about your experience at the Bristol Eye Hospital. There is a significant redevelopment programme at the hospital and this will have a positive impact on people’s experience there. We are also moving some services over to the new South Bristol Community Hospital, which will help us better accommodate patients who attend appointments at the Eye Hospital.
