My grandmother spent 1 week in Bradley House R&R Unit following a hospital admission for pnuemonia. This is a regular occurance for my grandmother as she suffers with end stage COPD.
As a family we were left bewildered and full of worry as to how we would cope with my grandmother upon discharge as this had been a particularly bad admission and her mental and physical health had suffered.
It was decided by the discharge liaison team and us as a family that she would spend some time in the R&R unit. From the moment she arrived to the day she was discharged my grandmother was treated with dignity and respect. The staff were all absolutely fantastic and even got my grandmother walking short distances with confidence.
The food was fantastic and as my grandmother is a fussy eater the staff even offered food that wasn't on the menu. As a family we were fully involved in every aspect of her discharge planning and the communication was fantastic. I'm pleased to say my grandmother is on the mend.
