"Poor"

About: Chippenham Community Hospital

What could be improved

I arrived at the hospital with my 11 year old son, in good time for an xray having been referred by the dentist.

It was not clear on the referral form where we had to go, so we presented ourselves to the main reception. I showed the receptionist the form and explained that I wasn't sure if it was main x ray or the dental dept.

Very sarcastically she said "4 doors down on the left - it says x ray"

So we went to X ray and handed in our form. We then waited for 40 minutes - 20 minutes after the due time of our appointment, the X ray receptionist came out and said that he had been told by the radiographer that they don't do these kind of x rays in this dept - we had to go to the dental department.

We arrive at the dental dept where we are now 25 minutes late through no fault of our own and then had to wait there for another 10 minutes before being seen.

Not very impressive - reception staff are the shop window of the hospital and they need to be better informed - and have less attitude

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We want to make sure we provide the best treatment with the best customer service and would like to apologise for the lack of assistance from reception staff during your visit to the x-ray services at Chippenham Community Hospital. We will be sharing your comments about attitude with the teams involved and look at how we can make improvements.
