"First class care when I needed it the most."

About: Darlington Memorial Hospital

What I liked

I was an overseas visitor to County Durham when I became ill. The hospital treated me so well and with great kindness. I cannot thank the staff in admissions and ward 41 enough for their help and their unfailing good humour. We hear many complaints in the british press about the NHS but my first hand experience was very satisfying and I was impressed by the level of professionalism and care. Whilst it was not the way I planned to spend any of my holiday in UK it was a positive experience and I was most grateful for my care at Darlington Memorial. Well done.

What could be improved

Sad to see so many cigarette butts around the grounds of the hospital.

Dear Kate,

Thank you for providing feedback on your admission to both the Admissions Ward and Ward 41 of Darlington Memorial Hospital in September 2012.

Whilst I am very pleased to hear that you had a positive experience and that you are happy with the care you received, I am sorry to read of your concerns regarding the amount of cigarette butts in the grounds of the hospital.

The Trust is grateful for all feedback, positive or negative, as it means we can better understand what is important to our patients, and your kind comments will be shared with the relevant staff.

Thank you for leaving your comments on NHS Choices.
