About: West Mendip Community Hospital

What I liked

I had cause to visit the Minor Injuries Unit on sat 27th October at 3.00pm(we were on holiday from Leicestershire) as i had a suspected abscess on my bottom tooth,we were checked in within minutes, and informed of waiting time, less than half of what we had anticipated time wise we were shown into a room where all my medical history was taken down,i then had temperature and blood pressure checked by a lady (sorry we did not note the names, some staff called her Matron!) i was then examined by a nurse practicioner, they were efficient, very professional, and extremely freindly, within minutes they returned with two lots of medication and they were fully explained to me,we were then given the name of an emergency dentist and the phone number and opening times of the unit, she then reassured us over and over that we could ring anytime if we had a query or concern,we did ring for advice as my Wife had a panic, this again was dealt with, with reassurance, professionalism, and freindship. We can not thank these ladies enough,we hope you can find out their names as they are a credit to your hospital.

Anything else?

please pass on our appreciation, and deepest thanks to these wonderful ladies, who relieved a stressful situation.

Dear Sir

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience of West Mendip Community Hospital MIU department.

It is always good to receive positive feedback about our services throughout Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and I will be pleased to share your comments with Matron of the hospital, who will, I am sure, be glad to inform her team of your acknowledgement of a job well done.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you well for the future, and I hope that you have now recovered from your recent health problem.

With kind regards

Karen Howard-Grenville
