"Poor service and waiting time "

About: Heartlands Hospital / General surgery

(as a relative),

Dad arrived at heartlands hospital at about 11:30am. It is now 19:25 and we are still sitting in the waiting room on ward 11.

Dad is 84 and in a lot of pain. He had some blood take and an xray. We went down for the xray about 16. 30.

Back to ward 11 saw a dr and have been waiting ever since for a bed on ward 5. Had to chase for pain killers and a drink of tea. Dad has had nothing to eat.

Shocking treatment of an 84 yr old in pain! !

Thank you for your feedback and I apologise for the delay in somebody from the Trust responding to you.

I am sorry for the long wait your father had and this is something we wouldn't want for any of our patients. Staff should have communicated with you the reasons for the delay and if they didn't I again apologise for this.
