"Help from Six Degrees for anxiety"

About: Six Degrees IAPT

(as the patient),

I received an appointment relatively quickly - which was really helpful.

I had around 8 half hour sessions with an advisor over several months. I didn't feel that the sessions really helped me to get anywhere with my anxiety. I felt that the adviser wasn't very compassionate and didn't really help me.

Also, the survey I completed at the end was completed by the advisor asking me the questions - so I didn't feel comfortable with saying what I really felt about the sessions.

If you are going to evaluate sessions then anonymous feedback may be more constructive.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this valuable feedback and your comments highlight the benefits of setting up this anonymous way of providing feedback. It is good to know that you found us to be responsive in terms of being seen quickly.

We however regret that you did not find the sessions as helpful as we intend them to be. It is also unfortunate that the worker did not appear to be compassionate. We will try our best to deal with these issues. We do ask for feedback in a number of ways to allow us to gauge our performance from different points of view.

We think this range of views will help us to continue working on improving the services we provide. Your comments will be shared with the rest of the team. We are also going to discuss your comments in some detail at the next management meeting and consider ways to improve our service in relation to your points.

Thank you for your feedback. This is really helpful. We understand that the subject matter that you may have been talking about with the Well-being Practitioner may have been highly personal and sensitive. Establishing an emotional connection and safe environment in which to talk about these types of issues is an important part of the Well-being practitioner’s role. We are reviewing the way in which we supervise the Well-being practitioners’ practice in order to try and address the concerns that you have raised.
