Having lived in various areas in England and Wales and requiring 6 monthly ear cleaning proceedures. This is the only hospital where one never sees a Consultant except for the initial first visit, which in my case was 9 years ago. My last visit was the first time in 40 years where the Consultant gave the HO advice from the next room without even bothering to do his own investigation. Whilst accepting the nurses who now perform ear cleaning can only do their best, they lack the knowledge and 'How to' when confronted with difficult situations.
